Playboy in Vietnam!

Today I was invited to the official opening of Playboy in Vietnam!

Ok, it isn’t that special because I’d still have to pay.  But this still makes me wonder how I got on the mailing list!  The e-mail they used isn’t one that is really ‘out there’ so I’m thinking they paid for a database of the e-mails of foreigners who live (or have lived) in Vietnam.  I haven’t lived there in over ten years so I’m not sure their money was well spent!

Playboy in Vietnam:

As I pondered this invitation, I wonder what Ho Chi Minh would say about all of this?  Vietnam just got its very first McDonalds only a year or two ago and now Playboy??  (Proud to say I still have my t-shirt that says “I got to Vietnam before McDonalds) This is all very confusion especially since Vietnam still has an addiction to ubiquitous Communist propaganda that tells everyone to stop the capitalist invaders.  Looks like the little white rabbit has slipped through the net (and the booby traps and the Viet Cong)!

I’d like to write more about this as it is almost as shocking as the election of Donald Trump.  The world is changing too fast and I’m getting dizzy!

Here is the e-mail:

The iconic brand is opening its very first lifestyle venue in Vietnam. Hanoi nightlife will be changed forever. Expect world-class performances and fine cuisine every day of the week.

This holiday season, we are offering marvellous dinner packages and entertainment extravaganzas featuring international vocalists, dancers and artists.

The official opening date is on the 23rd December 2016 followed by a series of celebrations. Do NOT miss out “The celebration of lifestyle” which is exclusively brought to you by Establishment Hanoi.

I wanted to post the link so everyone could “view this email in your browser” but wanted to erase any identifiers so I just used the main web address; the good folks at MailChimp have thought of this though and I was greeted with this message:
