Just saw this on the BBC.
If you read this blog with some frequency you might think that I am a "liberal."

Well, the great thing about being a Global Citizen is you subscribe to no ideology and will go with what makes sense.

Ron Paul spoke at CPAC which stands for Conservative Action Committee (Political?) and what he says here is the same thing he has been preaching for quite a while. Well, he finally found an audience.

If you remember back president he was "pooh-poohed" by both Republicans and Democrats alike. In this video John McCain and Mitt Romney both smirk at him. The thing that really surprises me is I have written about a few points he makes! Specifically that America is an Empire, goes on these foreign crusades and that helps bankrupt the country in a big way! Yet, this hasn't even come up among both Democrats and Republicans alike in terms of the deficit!

Further, see Ron Paul PWN Sean Hannity! The point I like here is that Iran has more cause to be concerned about Iraq as they are the next door neighbor. "What if Russia was in Mexico." Again, he is spot on.

Now, you know I am no fan of the Tea Party but it would seem that Ron Paul is the "darling" of this group! I don't think I would want to be a Tea Partier but I do like Ron Paul.

For me, Republicans under George W, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Beck are a group to be detested. Yet, I really like Ron Paul!!! Yet, it would seem they are pursuing different ends.

1. The Patriot Act (Against):
-"It gives controversial new powers to the Justice Department in terms of domestic and international surveillance of American citizens and others within its jurisdiction."

Translation: Gives the government the power to spy on its own citizens.

2. Foreign Intervention

- What I really like is when he says in the video "What should our position be about finding the next dictator of Egypt. I would say, we need to do a lot less, a lot sooner not only about Egypt but around the world."

So you see, we subscribe to no label here and I personally have always liked Ron Paul even when he was not popular. The question is "Can he win," but unfortunately the answer is no. The US government, Republican or Democrat will simply pursue the same wrong headed foreign policies no matter which group is on the upswing. For real change, a leader such as Ron Paul would have to be elected but would then still be subjected to the confinements in which Washington DC is run.

How to you outflank the current crazy Republican conservatives who call you a whiny Liberal? You start to agree with someone who is farther to the right then all of them.

If you haven't read my stuff, yes I am a Liberal. I call the shots as they are. Currently, the GOP is full of idiots.

Except Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is farther to the right than all the GOP candidates. But he also speaks the truth.

How about that for a paradox?

The more you think, the more complex things become and you just may be able to agree with two completely opposite sides.

But one thing you can never agree with is demagoguery, religious populism and plain stupidity that the current Republican party has become.

If you're going to go GOP, go Ron Paul who this blog completely supports or at least Mitt Romney who we believe could do a good job. The others are just a circus act.
